Triumph Over the Elements

A lone hydrangea bloom that dried naturally on the plant.  I have enjoyed watching and photographing it as it has withstood the elements.

I wonder if that poor little dried-up bloom will be able to hang on until the new blooms appear on some long-awaited day in the (hopefully) not-too-distant future. I love that last photo. Good detail. But soooo cold looking.

Linda — Every few days I think to look out there to see if it’s still there — each time fully expecting it to have fallen apart. But, as of this morning, it’s still there. So, I’ll keep taking pictures of it as long as it holds on. And wouldn’t it be great if I COULD get a picture of it with some new growth around it. We’ll see. :)

Oh very nice, Sandra. I love when something lasts into the winter.. that shouldn’t.

Me too, Hilary. I like the idea Linda suggests that maybe it will last until Spring. I’ll be watching! :)
